The Soul Box Project puts an origami box on The Mall for each gun violence victim
Lee said she chose origami boxes because they are cheap, easy to make, and light, which means more people can participate and the project can travel around the country to raise awareness. The project brought 36,000 boxes to the State Capitol in Oregon and more than 9,000 to Grand Rapids, Michigan.
