Blueface has been quiet on the music front, but it looks like he’s busy with his new business.
On Tuesday (June 15) a video appeared in which the rapper “Thotiana” introduced his new restaurant in his Instagram story. The place is called Blue’s Fish & Soul and is located in Santa Clara, California.
In the clip, Blueface is walking around the back of the kitchen, where several people are preparing and serving the food. The 24-year-old Cash Money West artist then unveils his signature drink, the Blueface lemonade. In another segment, Blue shows its fans what his favorite order in the restaurant is – a signature plate called Blue’s Athlete Platter – which consists of fried prawns, kale, and a side dish of macaroni and cheese.
Blueface also speaks to customers inside the establishment and asks them how the food tastes. One customer says, “It’s fire,” while another guest smiles and the food exclaims “slaps,” which is Bay Area slang for “it’s really good.”
The rhyme also states that the restaurant is hiring. “We are looking for new employees if someone wants to come. Help is needed, ”he said.
Blueface isn’t the only rapper to open his own restaurant. During a Zoom interview with XXL on Jan. 14, Lil Baby announced that he would be opening a restaurant in Atlanta.
“Actually, I have a new restaurant and I’m going to open it in Atlanta,” he told XXL, which he describes will have a lounge atmosphere. “It was supposed to open in January, but we had to finish the stages, so maybe February, March.”
Lil Baby said the menu would include Southern comfort dishes and libations. “You know, lamb chops, lobster tails, rice, things like that,” he added. “A little music, alcohol. Something like that.”
It’s always good to see rappers expand their portfolios and start businesses in their own communities.
