EXCLUSIVE: Regina Hall and Emmy winner Sterling K. Brown will star and produce Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul from the production company Pinky Promise.
The film centers on Trinity Childs (Hall), the first lady of a prominent Southern Baptist mega-church trying to help pastor husband Lee-Curtis Childs (Brown) rebuild her church and reconcile her faith for the greatest Comeback celebrating the world commodity religion has ever seen. Shot in the faux-documentary style, the film takes a satirical look at the megachurch culture and the often nebulous perspectives that cultivate from it, both anchored in it and to see oneself outside.
“Both Regina and Sterling are forces of nature, and their feel and the sheer creative energy they bring to these roles will be incredible,” said Pinky Promise co-founder Jessamine Burgum. “We are overjoyed to work with two of the nicest, hardest-working people in town. To be honest, a dream will come true. “
