You are looking for me because you had all the bread you wanted to eat. . .
I am the bread of life. “You are the first charity to come to me and speak to me this year (2020). Because of the pandemic, one-day breads are not collected and usable food is thrown away. The speaker was the manager of the local Woolworths. I called the Asylum Seekers’ Center and the House of Welcome and they quickly contacted him. Government support has been withdrawn from asylum seekers and individuals and families are starving.
An asylum seeker from Burundi lived in our community for two years. Eventually he received a permanent residence permit and plans to study to become an officer in the Salvation Army. He wants to help people. Hunger, cold and death, he knows that basic needs must be met before people can hear the word of God.
