What is the kingdom of god like?
A small brown seed in a pod
will soon be a bush
that forms a thick green canopy
stretched low above the ground.
Who could imagine this seed
could grow into a tree
which houses women, men and dogs
against the desert heat?
And you, dear lord, died and rose again,
be our canopy
where we can live and play and shadows
our neighbors from the heat.
