God will take care of us, but He is not our servant
Despite the friendship God offers us in Jesus, we shouldn’t forget that God is not our buddy. He is by our side and ready to help when we call him. In fact, we can talk to God as Moses did, as one person speaks to another. But God is God, not a human person. God will take care of us, but He is not our servant. God is not there to meet all of our needs. In fact, the opposite is true. We exist to fulfill God’s wishes. God wants there to be sentient beings in the universe who know their Creator, who recognize that they owe their existence to this Creator and whose role it is to bring the law (love) of God into every part of creation. This is the task that God and we share with joy at best. Let us keep our friendship with God in this perspective.
