In this week’s astrology there is a tone shift from the first part of the week to the end. We have just come from the exact one Venus-Neptune conjunctionthat will still make everything cute and easy for most of the week.
But the intense sighing and cuddling is not done yet. On Thursday, Venus sextile Pluto is accurate. Usually these two planets represent very different energies. Venus wants to bake you cookies. Pluto wants to turn on the stove and possibly burn something in the process. But when you put the two together, they make a surprising combination of sweet and salty that can create some excellent romantic breakthroughs.
And who (or what) is better than “breaking things through” than Aries? On Saturday morning it is Sun enters Aries. This is a great time to think ahead and write down on your calendar when all your Aries friends’ birthday parties are because they can’t take being forgotten so well.
Then on Sunday Venus enters Aries. I could draw a ton of miles from the fact that Pisces is the “elevated” placement for Venus, and how the downshift to Venus in Aries (where Venus is “weakened”) can be kind of harrowing, and I would mostly be right. The simple truth, however, is that while Venus is a wonderfully romantic place in Pisces, it can be a little tricky to work with. Aloof maybe … or maybe a little too much in your head to make a difference. Venus in Aries, but? It is easier to work with this energy. It’s a bit like that kid at school who had a crush on you and didn’t know how to put it appropriately, but at least somehow you knew interest was being expressed.
However, if it appears that Mars energy is building up in the second half of the week, there is more to it than just the entry of the Sun and Venus into Aries. Just as this week started with an exact aspect from last week, the week ends with an aspect that isn’t exact until Sunday evening – but still affects most of this week. Just as the Venus sextile Pluto had a lot of depth and compassion, Mars trine Saturn is powerful, dynamic and very goal-oriented.
In other words, this week is a bit like having someone sit in the back of the bar to let everyone see how good they look and then move in to kill an hour before the store closes. Oh, that kind of approach to your love life doesn’t sound very romantic? Honestly, you should get to know more Aries people with Venus in Aries. They will teach you that romance doesn’t always have to be hearts and flowers. Sometimes romance is about choosing a target and moving around to get your shot.
