Readings

Joshua 24: 1-2, 15-18. Taste and see the goodness of the Lord – Ps 33 (34): 2-3, 16-23. Ephesians 5: 21-32. John 6: 60-69.

“Who should we go to? You are the saint of god ‘

Who hasn’t taken on a new hobby or a new job and enthusiastically embraced the novelty? – “Yes, that’s what I really want” – only to find that it has become a lot more difficult than you imagined. When this happens, either give up or accept that it may not always be easy and redo your efforts. Many of Jesus’ disciples found that they could not accept his teaching about the Eucharist, “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood, has eternal life and I will raise him up on the last day” (Jn 6:54) and stopped listening to go to him. On the other hand, Simon Peter reaffirms his commitment before the same election.

Dear God, I pray for the courage to say with Simon Peter: ‘You have the message of eternal life and we believe; we know that you are the Holy One of God. ‘
