Death leads us to a full encounter with the risen Jesus

Death is one of the secrets of life. The ancient Hebrew peoples struggled to explain. Death separates us from all living beings, most painfully from those we love. Even Christian believers have to accept their reality. The death and resurrection of Christ give us hope, as does the cycle of natural life in the universe. Everything dies and gives way to something else. Our sun, a star that has existed for billions of years and will continue to exist for millions, will also come to an end. It will collapse and explode, and its broken matter will eventually be part of a new star or planet. So instead of letting the fact of death create fear in us, we may see it as a door from this life to the next. Only death will lead us to a full encounter with the risen Jesus, God the Father and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
