Love your next

Loving your neighbor seems easy, and yet it can be the greatest challenge to a faithful life. Sometimes our neighbors try our patience. In times of increasing polarization, it is more difficult for us to see ourselves as a community of neighbors. But loving your neighbor as yourself means seeing people from all walks of life as worthy and compassionate as you are. The challenge in today’s gospel is that one must act out one’s faith in all interactions, conversations, and even disputes with others to love one’s neighbor. That you do so knowing that God is in all of us, and by loving your neighbor, you love God.
