5 Prayers for When You’re Desperate for God’s Help

In difficult times, it’s often easy to lose focus and not even know who to turn to. We feel desperate, overwhelmed, burdened with everyday worries. And it is precisely in these moments, even if we are not fully aware, that God is with us, close and wants to remind us of how much he cares for us and helps us. In dark days, choose to lean into the presence of the Lord. This is the only place where we can find true healing, strength and peace.

He is faithful to take our burdens and carry us through every emergency we face. He never intends us wrestling and fighting alone. We can trust him and watch his miraculous power unfold through our lives. What he can do in an instant seems impossible to us.

Dear God, the fear we face seems insurmountable. We don’t even know what to do anymore, we feel confused and unsure about the future. We sometimes wonder if you’re really listening, life seems to have taken us so far.

Please help us get back to you. Put us safely under the protection of your wings. We long for your presence and peace again, but we’re not sure how to get back. We trust that your power is far greater than the difficulties we face.

We believe that you are mighty and bigger than this storm. Thank you for your promise to be our refuge and strength in difficult times. We ask you now for a miracle of faith and we choose to depend on you like never before.

In Jesus name, amen.

2. Prayer for healing

Dear God, today we confess our need for you. We urgently need your healing and grace. We need hope to be restored. We need to be reminded that you work faithfully on behalf of those you love constantly, powerfully, and completely.

Forgive us for trying to solve our problems all by ourselves. We know that true help and healing must first be found in you. We come to you humbly and bring you the places where we are hurt. You see where no one else can fully see or understand.

You know the pain we’ve endured, all the burdens, all the worries. We ask for your healing and grace to cover every broken area, wound, and affliction. We ask for your healing in every part of our life – physical, emotional and spiritual.

Thank you that nothing is impossible with you. Thank you for fighting for us and for being greater than anything this world throws in our way. We ask for strength and perseverance for all the days ahead. We know that you still have a big goal ahead of you and look to the future with hope.

In Jesus name, amen.

3. Prayer for strength in battle

Dear God, the world seems dark and the spiritual struggles we face are real. Thank you Lord for your admonitions that you hold victory over sin and death and that you have come to set the prisoners free.

We are so grateful for the redeeming work you have done in our lives and for the freedom and hope that only you can bring. We know that the enemy we face has no control over us, and we are bringing your truth right against his plans.

Thank you that we are never alone, because you are constantly on duty for your children – protecting, protecting, strengthening, bringing to light what needs to be known and protecting us from dangers, even if we are not aware of it.

We ask for your wisdom and spiritual judgment to see what we are dealing with and to live strong within us through your spirit. We choose to put on your armor every day because you give us everything we need to stand firm in the battles.

Thank you for the power of your loving presence in us and through us. Thank you for walking in front of us and covering us from behind. May your name be glorified in our lives as you build greatness in the heat of hard times. We love you, Lord; we choose to hold on to you alone.

In Jesus name, amen

4. Prayer that God will lift our burdens

Dear God, the problems that surround us feel like they are imposing. We feel overwhelmed and burdened with so many worries. Please help us to find our strength in you again, to renew our hearts and to bring our focus back to you.

We need you today and every day. Help us keep the distractions and struggles of our days from becoming exhausted. We know that your wish is for us to live this life in fullness and freedom.

Thank you, Lord, for you create great endurance in us through the tough places. You are building spiritual muscles. We are pushing close to Your Presence today, and no matter what obstacles we encounter, we choose joy.

Nothing in the world can bring us the comfort and tranquility that you alone can provide. Thank you for your understanding of our deepest burdens and for your great care. Every weakness and every hard place shows your miraculous strength in our life.

We can’t do it alone; but you can, through us. Your power is mighty in us, you are our help and our refuge, everything is possible through you.

In Jesus name, amen.

5. Prayer for a miracle

Dear God, thank you for doing far more than we could ever imagine. Thank you for your mighty power acting on behalf of your children. We turn to you and believe that you will restore and redeem every difficult place and all battles we have fought to your greater glory.

Thank you for never wasting our pain and suffering. Thank you for being much greater than anything we encounter in this life and we have overcome it because you have set us free. We believe in your truth, which is, “No weapon formed against you will prosper,” and we know nothing is too difficult for you.

Lord, we ask for your peace, for your protection that surrounds us and carries us through these difficult days. We trust you for your constant work on our behalf. We ask for your light and hope to push back any dark place.

We ask for your miraculous care for every need. We pray for open doors that no one can close. Thank you for not being surprised. You know our journey better than we know it, and you will use this time of trial for your ultimate good in our lives.

In Jesus name, amen.
