Clint Eastwood Soul Searches in First Trailer for New HBO Max Western ‘Cry Macho’

Legendary actor-director Clint Eastwood is back with a new western. Cry Macho, set to hit theaters and HBO Max later this year, has released its first official trailer, so what if you wanted to see Eastwood in action again? Good news. Unless? Stop reading this article I guess.

Eastwood plays Mike Milo, a former rodeo star and exhausted horse breeder who decides to take a job from his ex-boss to bring the man’s son home from Mexico. Set in 1979, the film follows the unusual duo on a surprisingly challenging journey in which the old rider finds a strong bond with the boy.

“You used to be strong. Macho, ”says the boy in the trailer to Mike.

“I used to be a lot of things,” muses Mike. “Not now. I’ll tell you something: This macho thing is overrated. Only people who try to be macho to show they have courage. That’s all they end up with. It’s like everything else in life; you think you have all the answers. Then you realize that you are getting older and have none of them. “

At the end of the trailer we even find out what the title means: Macho is of course the boy’s house cock.

In addition to Eastwood, the film stars Eduardo Minett, Natalia Traven, Dwight Yoakam, Fernando Urrejola and Horacio Garcia-Rohas play. Eastwood is directed from a screenplay by Nick Schenck and M. Richard Nash, based on the novel by Nash. The film is Eastwood’s first since the 2018 film The Mule, and complements the actor / director’s six-decade career in the industry.

Scroll up to see the official trailer for Cry Macho, which will be released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max on September 17th. The film will be streamed free of charge to HBO Max subscribers at the non-ad tier for 31 days before exiting the platform.
