Engineer Seeks Off On Sundays For Soul-Searching, Boss Replies…

The bizarre request from Rajkumar Yadav has become a topic of conversation in WhatsApp groups

Bhopal:

A government engineer’s request for Sunday leave has become a talking point in all WhatsApp groups in Madhya Pradesh, thanks to his claims of rebirth and spiritual awakening riddled with Mahabharata references.

Rajkumar Yadav, an assistant engineer for MGNREGA projects in Susner, Agar Malwa district, wrote in a WhatsApp message to the CEO of Panchayat that he suddenly remembered events in his past life.

He has written that AIMIM President and MP Asaduddin Owaisi was his childhood friend Nakul in his previous life and has referred to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat as “Shakuni Mama”.

“I want to study the Gita to learn more about my past life. I will also go door to door begging for alms to wipe out my ego. As it is a matter of my soul, I ask to be given Free Sundays, “read the post he shared on the Panchayat WhatsApp group.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Yadav said that sometimes they have to work on Sundays, but after his “spiritual awakening” he wants to spend the day reading the Gita. “I dreamed that Asaduddin Owaisi would be my Sakha (friend) and that Mohan Bhagwat would also be there as Shakuni mom,” he said.

Although his application was not only denied, Parag Panthi, the CEO of Janpad Panchayat, said he had to come to the office on Sundays and work hard to wipe out his ego. pic.twitter.com/IvRE2Swe4j

In a response that came as tit for deed, Panchayat CEO Parag Panthi said Mr. Yadav should show up at the office every Sunday and work hard to “be ego free”.

The CEO’s response was full of sarcasm, saying that it is out of ego that people want to spend Sunday as they please and that ego must be destroyed at its roots. Therefore, Mr. Yadav has to work every Sunday.

It will remain to be seen whether the bizarre vacation request will take action against the officer, but right now it is spreading laughter on social media.
