Stacy Lewis, a 13-time LPGA Tour winner and NCAA individual champion in Arkansas, will captain the USA team for the 2021 Spirit International Amateur Golf Championship from November 1-7 at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity.

The biennial event features 80 of the world’s best amateur men and women from 20 countries in both team and individual competitions. It is hosted by the Spirit Golf Association, which sponsors amateur golf through philanthropy and has raised more than $ 13 million since it began in 1999.

Lewis was the captain of the 2019 USA team, which featured men’s team champions Cole Hammer from Houston and Andy Ogletree, as well as women’s competitors Kaitlyn Papp and Emilia Migliaccio. A Woodlands High School product, Lewis is a five-time member of the US Solheim Cup as a player and will serve as the American Assistant Captain for the 2021 event, September 4-6 at the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio.
