At first glance, the romantic potential for this week seems pretty good. But why is there a feeling of nervousness hanging over everything? Let’s find out …
First of all, Venus continues to work its magic in Cancer. Of all the watermarks, Cancer appears to be the place where Venus can offer both affection and practicality in a measured and reasonable manner. And this week there are no serious transits to mess with. In fact, the Venus trine Neptune will be accurate early next week. That will tend to soften and dreamy romantic aspirations, and generally increase cravings for hearts and flowers across the board.
Meanwhile, Mars is in Leo. As with Venus in the watermark, Mars is at home in the fire sign with its actions. In particular, Mars gives a lot of dramatic flair in Leo that Mars normally can’t create in Cancer. It’s almost like Mars wants to shake off the shackles it felt when it was weakened by cancer by throwing a party. As the late great Purple One, Prince (who had some pretty prominent Leos on his charts) put it, “We want to play in the sunshine! We want to be free! ”And to be honest: After we all recently had to come to terms with Mars in Cancer versus Pluto in Capricorn, how can you argue?
Another factor plays a role here, which on the surface has nothing to do with astrology. People are being vaccinated, restrictions are being relaxed, and for many of us it is a light at the end of the tunnel that the world has crawled for over a year. Still, celebrate responsibly folks!

Though that aspect has been sanded away year-round, it makes the second of three exact hits on Monday. A big slow transit like this in and of itself seldom leaves things straight to hell on the exact day it is. But a big slow transit like this one can certainly feel heavier as it approaches that exact hit. And no matter how well this week may go for you, don’t be too surprised if your enthusiasm is dampened by the faint suspicion that all is not what it seems or should be. Imagine hearing the cellos and trombones and tuba from the soundtrack to Jaws softly in the background every time the shark shows up.
