Meditations for Summer’s End – The New York Times

End of summer meditations

On a hike:

Start by paying attention to each step.

Take your time. Let your weight come into its own with each step before taking the next, and find a pace that allows your breathing to keep pace.

Find moments when you can stop and enjoy the experience, on a hill, overlooking a view, at a fork in the road, or in front of a beautiful flower or tree.
