Prayer is our primary tool in healing what is causing pain in our family. Whether physical or emotional pain, God can give comfort and restoration. Prayer for family healing
Dear God, we commit ourselves to the sick in our families. We believe that you are our healer, our great doctor. May you be the comfort of our family members who are in physical pain right now. Touch them with your healing hands, Lord. Send out your word and cure their diseases. Let your healing power flow through every cell in your body.
Dear Father, we also ask you to heal those members of our family who are emotionally hurt. Their suffering is not physical, but we know they are in pain too. Give them comfort too, God. Give them peace beyond understanding. Heal their hearts, Lord, which may be filled with anger, hatred, strife, bitterness and unforgiveness. Clear your mind of doubts, fears, or depression. A prayer for the healing of sick families and friends
Lord Jesus, thank you for loving [name of person who needs healing]. I know you hate what their illness does to you / me. I ask you to cure this disease, that you have compassion and bring healing from all diseases. Your word at Psalm 107: 19-20 says that when we call the Eternal to you, you will give the command and heal us and save us from certain death. I have read about miraculous healings in the Bible and I believe that you still heal in the same way today.
I believe there is no such thing as a disease that cannot be cured, even though the Bible says that people are raised from the dead, so I ask for healing in this situation. From my experience of earth life I also know that not everyone is healed. When this happens, keep my heart soft to you, help me understand your plan, and help me look forward to Heaven. As my good shepherd, Jesus, I know that you will lead me to quiet places and restore my soul and body. I trust you and I want to follow your lead. Help me not to welcome this time as an interruption in my carefully planned schedule, but as an opportunity to draw strength and nourishment for the journey ahead.
